FOUND MISSION STATEMENT

FOUND is a contemporary multidisciplinary design studio headquartered in Los Angeles. The studio is committed to advancing and modernizing traditional methodologies in wayfinding, branding, signage, and graphic design through the integration of cutting-edge technologies, including digital platforms, GPS, haptic feedback, autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence.

HABITAT

FOUND developed the signage, wayfinding, and environmental graphics for Habitat, one of Los Angeles' most ambitious mixed-use campuses — a live-work-thrive destination rising at the city's geographic center, where Culver City meets the heart of LA. Set on three-and-a-half transit-oriented acres beside the La Cienega/Jefferson Metro station, Habitat weaves together a 12-story residential tower, a six-story creative office building, and an acre of integrated parkland into a single, walkable ecosystem built to galvanize the content capital of the world.

The program reflects the project's environmental ambition. Habitat is designed to achieve LEED Platinum and Fitwel certification for its creative workspace and LEED Gold for its residences, part of an all-electric campus targeting net-zero carbon. FOUND's identity and wayfinding carry that spirit through the site — grounding a sustainable, nature-connected campus in a graphic language as considered as the architecture around it.

In collaboration with Lendlease, SHoP Architects, Steinberg Hart, and RELM.

POWER STATION

For Power Station, one of San Francisco's most significant new waterfront districts, FOUND authored the master plan signage guidelines. FOUND developed two master plan guidelines — one for the individual block developments, one for the common areas — that together establish the standards, sign families, and design language governing the district as it grows.

In collaboration with and renderings via Fifth Space, Herzog & de Meuron, Heatherwick Studio, and Foster + Partners.

UNITED TALENT AGENCY

FOUND developed the signage and graphics rebrand for United Talent Agency, one of the largest talent agencies in the world, from its global headquarters in Beverly Hills to its offices in London, Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York.

Dynamistic Branding

We believe in Dynamistic Branding as the core theme connecting the static and digital elements of a modern brand. The future of brands has an incredible number of touchpoints to design — physical manifestation to digital manifestation, the refinement of designing between 2D and 3D to create something in between. A brand in constant change, but rooted in a single vision.

Scope & location:

Signage · Graphics · Rebrand

Beverly Hills, London, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York

PARK HABITAT

FOUND developed the brand identity, graphics, signage, public art, and wayfinding for Park Habitat, a mixed-use tower in San Jose designed by Kengo Kuma and developed by Westbank.

Heliotropic Growth

The design theme, Heliotropic Growth, extracts from the vertically reaching biophilic architecture of Kengo Kuma's Park Habitat. This inspiration derives from a plant's inclination toward the sun, and the ways in which each individual species evolves and adapts to harness the sun's energy.

In collaboration with Kengo Kuma, Westbank, and Adamson Associates.

Scope & location:

Brand Identity · Graphics · Signage · Public Art · Wayfinding

San Jose, CA

GRAND CENTRAL MARKET LOS ANGELES

FOUND designed one of the only branding changes in the 103-year history of Grand Central Market, the iconic food hall in Downtown Los Angeles — an honor for one of the city's most enduring landmarks.

Modern Nostalgia

The design theme, Modern Nostalgia, holds past and future together at once, offering a sense of familiarity alongside a new timelessness. Influenced by the manufacturing styles of classic historic neon, the signage is oversized and extruded to the point of nostalgia. Oversized rounded historic forms in elegant matte black pair with white typography, and a minimal palette evokes the past while carrying the feel of modern fashion.

In collaboration with Langdon Street Capital.

Scope & location:

Branding · Graphics · Wayfinding · Media

Downtown Los Angeles, CA

CIRCA SPECTACULAR

FOUND led the creative direction and surround design for the CIRCA Spectacular, a roughly 20,000-square-foot curved LED display wrapping the CIRCA residential towers in Downtown Los Angeles — the largest continuous digital display on the West Coast. Set at the corner of Figueroa and 12th, across from Crypto.com Arena and LA LIVE, the display's concave and convex curves integrate the screen seamlessly into the building's architecture, turning the tower's base into a landmark media destination.

In collaboration with Hankey Investment Company, Jamison Services, BIG Outdoor, and SNA Displays.

Scope & location:

Creative Direction · Architectural Surround Design

Downtown Los Angeles, CA

PREQUEL PARK

FOUND is developing the signage and wayfinding for Prequel Park, a new public waterfront park designed by Heatherwick Studio on San Francisco's Dogpatch shoreline, opening this stretch of the central waterfront for the first time in over 160 years. Set within the historic Power Station district, the park reclaims the ground around the site's retired 1962 power plant and its 300-foot Stack, turning industrial relics into a landscape of gardens, performance space, and public art.

FOUND's program carries the park's identity through its wayfinding and interpretive storytelling, connecting visitors to the layered industrial history of the site as they move through the space. The Stack itself will become a vertical art gallery, launching a landmark public art initiative with ICA SF in 2027.

In collaboration with and renderings via Fifth Space, Heatherwick Studio, and ACLA.

Scope & location:
Signage · Wayfinding · Interpretive Design
San Francisco, CA

NEW RELIC

FOUND developed the signage, graphics, wayfinding, and public art for the global headquarters of New Relic in San Francisco.

Power of STEAM

STEAM — Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Individuals change the world, and their influence carries from one person to the next, a rippling effect that creates massive change through organic, echoing brilliance. Those circles and ripples became the core of the entire graphic program, honoring the extraordinary STEAM figures whose stories inspire the minds at New Relic — and, in turn, future generations.

In collaboration with New Relic and M Moser Associates.

Scope & location:

Signage · Graphics · Wayfinding · Public Art

San Francisco, CA

SUNNYVALE CIVIC CENTER

FOUND developed the signage, graphics, wayfinding, and interpretive art for the new Sunnyvale Civic Center, a 26-acre campus in Silicon Valley integrating a City Hall, Public Safety Headquarters, and City Hall Park. Designed by SmithGroup for the City of Sunnyvale, the campus is anchored by the first ground-up Net Zero Energy, LEED Platinum city hall in the United States.

Powers of Ten

The design was influenced by Charles and Ray Eames' Powers of Ten, emphasizing scalability, interconnectedness, and the relationship between different scales of architecture and landscape. Drawing from the campus's redwood trees, exterior signage replicates slivers of tree bark, while interior elements reflect the architecture's dynamic, shifting panels to create folding and interactive shapes. Timber plays a central role in connecting the graphics and signage to their natural surroundings, fostering an organic and harmonious environment.

In collaboration with SmithGroup and the City of Sunnyvale.

Scope & location:

Signage · Graphics · Wayfinding · Interpretive Art

Sunnyvale, CA

ZYNGA GLOBAL HQ

FOUND developed the experiential graphics, signage, branding, wayfinding, and interactive environments for Zynga's global headquarters in San Mateo, California.

Portals

Zynga draws players into new worlds through portals — entry points into an alternative reality for its users and creators. The concept translates those thresholds into physical and graphic form throughout the workplace, marking transitions from one space into another.

In collaboration with M Moser Associates.

Scope & location:

Experiential Graphics · Signage · Branding · Wayfinding · Interactive Environments

San Mateo, CA

BIOTERRA

FOUND developed the signage, environmental graphics, and wayfinding for Bioterra, a ground-up life sciences campus in San Diego's Sorrento Mesa, developed by Longfellow Real Estate Partners and designed by HOK.

Formulating Future

The concept explores the evolution within the discovery process of science and technology. As humanity evolves through science, there are human factors of success and failure, giving results that are uneven and unknown. This human factor produces an imperfect beauty and inspiration for the next step of evolution and discovery.

In collaboration with Longfellow Real Estate Partners and HOK.

Scope & location:

Signage · Environmental Graphics · Wayfinding

San Diego, CA
