SUNNYVALE CIVIC CENTER
The new Sunnyvale Civic Center, spanning 26 acres, integrates a City Hall, Public Safety Headquarters, and City Hall Park. The design was influenced by Charles and Ray Eames’ 'Powers of Ten' through its emphasis on scalability, interconnectedness, and the relationship between different scales of architecture and landscape. Drawing from the campus’s redwood trees, exterior signage replicates slivers of tree bark, while interior elements reflect the architecture’s dynamic, shifting panels to create folding and interactive shapes. Timber plays a central role in connecting the graphics/signage to their natural surroundings, fostering an organic and harmonious environment.
